Phoenix Geeks supported NCR and Walmart by acting as Lead Installer for nationwide self-checkout deployments. The work required traveling city to city, where I coordinated and worked alongside local technicians to install and commission new self-checkout lanes.
The process included:
Unboxing and assembling self-checkout units.
Configuring and imaging each lane with NCR/Walmart software builds.
Running complete functionality tests for payments, scanners, printers, and cash handling devices.
Handing off each site to Walmart management within strict 3-day timelines.
Typically, half of the lanes were operational within the first 24 hours, ensuring minimal disruption and giving Walmart stores the benefit of immediate improvements.
